Army frustrated attack in Puerto Rico, Caquetá – Cronica alterna

The tenth brigade, of the sixth division of the National Army He managed to locate and dismantle an illegal deposit with explosives in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Puerto Rico, Caquetá.

The military operation was carried out near the corregimiento of Santana Ramos, on the sandy path. The troops of the second brigade arrived at the scene and found the explosive artifacts stored under black plastics, hidden in the thickness of the jungle terrain and near the banks of the Guayas River.

This illegal deposit belonged to the Jorge Suárez Briceño block, Iván Díaz structure, and apparently, the explosives were prepared to be used in attacks against military units that perform tactical tasks in the urban perimeter and operations in the rural area.

During the site inspection, soldiers accompanied by anti -explosive canines found 84 5.56 caliber cartridges, 4 7.62 caliber cartridges, 19 explosive artifacts and 2 mortar -type artisanal manufacturing grenades. If they were detonated, these elements would have caused serious effects on the civilian population, strategic assets and military bases in the department of Caquetá.

According to information from the National Army, there are already 54 explosive artifacts destroyed and more than 120 kilograms of ANFO seized so far in 2025, weakening the criminal capabilities of the armed groups organized outside the law in the south of the country. This advance affects logistics and criminal networks, contributing to the security, defense and well -being of communities.
